Who is a blogger?
As i was reading miss Cosmos post about a female blogger's reunion http://misscosmokuwait.blogspot.com/2005/10/female-bloggers-gabga.html alot of questions kept popping into my mind..
at first i was really excited about the whole "Meet a blogger" thing.. but then i started thinking about who i was going to meet..
i knew them all by their nicknames..
i knew their personalities through their writing style..
i knew a bit about their likes and interests through the things they write about..
but i did not know what kind of people i was gonna meet..
i did not know them..
this created mixed emotions..
i was shy, trepidated, and a bit uncomfortable with the whole situation..
i desperatly want to meet them, but i am not ready yet..
this whole event has made me want to know more about all you bloggers..
i wanna know more about u..
** i edited the last part out, ** ;P~
i had questions like what class did u graduate as? and etc.. but i realize now that it sounded like an interrogation.. and that would contradict with the whole blogger anonymity thing..
so in conclusion,
blogger anonymity is a very touchy subject..

Pizzazz (love the name),
First, thank you sincerely for your sweet comment on my blog.
As to your wanting to know more about your fellow bloggers, well, look at your own header! A place I can pour all my hearts content without fear or trepidation.. A place where I can just be ME! A blogger's annonymity is the soul reason we can do exactly what you mention! A person's blog gives you insight into an individuals SELF, not the roles or labels or social confines assigned to us.
Someone's school district or age or where they work, these introduce those biases you have naturally collected in day to day life. I think we should appreciate what people have chosen to share and respect what they have chosen not to. You've met alot of people outside your normal peer group for just that reason!
That being said, I love that you are interested in stepping outside your comfort zone and getting to know some of these incredible people just a little bit better. Be daring, this meeting is just another step! :-)
Thanks pizzazz, as unknown entity said, it's a lovely nickname.. I quite like it
I agree with unknown entity.. However, pizzazz, these things or questions are not necessarily important for most of us.
I suggest you to go deeper to know what a person or blogger is.
Be daring, again as unknown said, but be more careful now =)
unknown entity..
thanx ;) i understand.. that was very biast of me.. :P from now on i am respecting this blogger anonymity thing ;) edited the whole thing out..
moodlonely..
thanx i kinda like it too.. ;)
yeah i am gonna go deeper, but how? any suggestions..?
Some people like anonimity, and for good reason, but I'm not all like that. If you want to know something, just ask :0
I've met quite a few of the bloggers from on here in my short 6-7 weeks in Kuwait. I would say, roughly... 20 of them. A couple females, but mostly guys.
So far, they have all been really nice people and down to earth.
thanks for telling me about the blog :D
i have to get used to it though.
In real life you meet a person and judge him / her from the outside and then start getting to know them inside.
In a blog, you get to know the person from inside and then start discovering things outside (as much as the blogger wants to reveal).
Just my thoughts.
it's funny how we sometimes tend to judge on appearance and never really give people the chance to get to know the real self inside...I do agree that blogger world is to pour out our problems without inhibitions...but getting to meet new people that you know you've clicked with "once a blogger time" might be interesting...I totally understand your thoughts that's why the rule is that we don't reveal who we are as bloggers...we'll be judging each other soley by appearance and conversation...and the mystery of it all could be fun...and about you being shy...well..honestly...so am I...but I guess the experience will teach us something...it could be a lousy experience or it could be a great one...we'll never know unless we risk it...and after that...we'll know that we're better people for stepping out of our comfortable zone and having the courage to live on the edge for a mere night...:)..You're one of my favorites girl...and your presence will be missed so I do hope you'll give it a try...:)
Pizzazz,
I re-read my comment and realized that I might have come across a little... harsh. Please know that I didn't intend that at ALL. I enjoy your blog, your thoughts and have no doubt that I would enjoy your company at the meeting if you decide to join. But it's a personal decision and I'll have no less respect for you if you bow out. Keep the shiny side up!
You know if you really think about it, the widespread of anonymous communication mediums like bloggin, chatting on irc, msn etc proves that people really are not who they are when physically with other people. Everyone seems to have a hidden character and an ulterior motive. Is it because we no longer beleive in societies conformation, but abide by thie rules? Can anyone here who is almost speaking freely, go out and do the same. Its not a crime, but people will probably react negatively or use it against you, depending on the society you live in. Lets not forget that blogging is not completely personal, as some of real life friends do know the info you provide.
Equalizer: I don't think anyone who knows me would be at all shocked or dismayed by anything I write. Am I completely myself in public? Hell no! Because I respect others boundaries and sensitivities. I have no ulterior motive, per say, but different relationships imbue different levels of personalization. No?
I enjoy your commentary on other's blogs. The role of "devil's advocate" suits you.
YOU HAVE TO COME!!!! You just gotta!!!
I second Samboose... you just gotta!!! Won't be the same without you... the more the merrier. :-D
